New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said his administration is consulting legal advisers over whether any action could be taken if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits New York for the UN General Assembly. In an interview, Mamdani said he believes Netanyahu belongs in The Hague, referring to the International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant issued in 2024. He also acknowledged that he is uncertain whether he has the legal authority to direct any action and said the city's Law Department is reviewing the matter. 

A Russian couple stunned New York after climbing to the top of the Empire State Building's 1,450-foot spire, where Ivan Beerkus appeared to propose to Angela Nikolau before both were arrested. The pair remained atop the iconic skyscraper for several minutes, unfurled a banner reading, "When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace," and descended before being taken into custody by the NYPD.
