BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has ridiculed Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's recent statement that people "tremble with fear" when they see Rahul Gandhi. Poonawalla, in a response, joked that it is not the general public but Congress members themselves who are "trembling" at the prospect of Rahul Gandhi delivering speeches in Delhi. He suggested that Congress fears his speeches could inadvertently boost the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), making it a stronger contender in the region. "Priyanka Gandhi is saying that people tremble on seeing Rahul Gandhi. I agree with this. Congress people tremble a lot. They tremble so much that they have requested Rahul Gandhi not to give speeches in Delhi, otherwise AAP will start winning. People of his own party tremble at him," Poonawalla said.

As former PM Manmohan Singh’s final journey takes place today, Congress and BJP are at loggerheads over the handling of former Prime Minister Singh's last rites and memorial. Congress claims it reflects a worldwide demand to construct his memorial at his cremation place. Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge had on Friday spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about exploring the possibility of building a memorial to Manmohan Singh at the same site where the last rites would be held. To this, Union Home minister Amit Shah in a press release had said that a place for Dr Singh's memorial will be allocated, while adding that in the mean time, the cremation and other formalities can go ahead.

Delhi CM Atishi accused the Congress party of having an arrangement with the BJP for the upcoming Delhi elections. She pointed out that Congress senior leader Ajay Maken had called Arvind Kejriwal anti-national, but never made similar accusations against any BJP leader. Atishi questioned why Congress filed an FIR against her and Kejriwal, while never taking similar actions against BJP leaders. She claimed that BJP is funding Congress candidates, including Sandeep Dikshit. She also reminded Congress that they had previously allied with AAP in the Lok Sabha elections. Atishi demanded Congress take action against Maken within 24 hours if there is no understanding with the BJP.
