Heavy rainfall continues to batter Maharashtra, triggering a major incident in Raigad district. Around 3,000 LPG cylinders were swept away after floodwaters breached the protective wall of the HPCL Patalganga LPG Bottling Plant. Viral videos show hundreds of cylinders floating through the Patalganga River and Kharpada Creek, prompting a massive recovery operation. 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast red alert for Mumbai and Raigad, warning of moderate thunderstorms, intense to very intense rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds reaching up to 50 km/h over the next three to four hours.
