Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, recently alleged flaws in the investigation, sparking controversy after Sheena Bora's remains went missing from police custody on June 15. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Indrani Mukerjea claimed authorities may have instigated a flawed probe and suggested that Sheena Bora might be alive, contradicting the Mumbai Police's findings. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been probing the case since 2015, following Indrani's arrest in August 2015. Indrani, who spent over six years in Mumbai's Byculla women's prison, was granted bail by the Supreme Court in May 2022 amidst ongoing legal proceedings.  

Indrani Mukerjea's ex-husband Siddharth Das on Tuesday said that he wants death penalty for the people who killed Sheena Bora. He also alleged that Indrani Mukerjea can do anything for money.
