Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday leading to waterlogging in many areas of the city. Roads of Sion, Bandra, King Circle, Matunga and Kurla were flooded with water and people were also seen wading through knee-deep water in Andheri.

The bridges in south Mumbai will undergo two audits in a year, one before and another after the monsoon, the civic body said. The BMC will spend about Rs 5 crore on structural audits of around 98 bridges, including foot overbridges (FOBs), road overbridges (ROBs), flyovers, subways and skywalks.
