The Centre has questioned Meta over the temporary removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's video message to students during a high-level meeting with senior company executives. According to reports, Meta described the takedown as an "erroneous" removal and clarified the circumstances behind the incident. Reports also say Mark Zuckerberg apologised for issues related to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), deepfake content and operational errors on the platform. The government also raised concerns over online safety, content moderation and compliance with Indian regulations. Sources further indicated that if Meta fails to address these concerns, the government may consider reviewing the company's Safe Harbour protection under the Information Technology Act. 

Tensions in West Asia have intensified once again as Iran held the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amid a series of strong warnings from Israel, with Israeli leaders declaring that any future Iranian leader who seeks to threaten Israel will face the "same fate." Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that Iran's leadership should take note of recent events, warning that anyone pursuing plans aimed at Israel's destruction would be eliminated. Katz also criticised chants heard during the funeral that called for revenge against US President Donald Trump, describing them as a reflection of the Iranian regime's ideology. The latest exchange comes as Israel maintains that recent military operations significantly reduced what it described as the immediate threat posed by Iran and reaffirmed its readiness to act whenever necessary to defend its national security.
