Trinamool Congress

A dramatic political shift unfolds as the Bharatiya Janata Party secures a landmark victory crossing the 200-seat mark, marking the end of a 15-year-long political dominance in West Bengal. The verdict signals one of the most significant electoral turning points in recent Indian political history. The Prime Minister emphasized a forward-looking agenda focused on healthcare expansion, women’s safety, youth employment and reducing migration pressures in the state. WATCH

Ripun Bora resigned from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), saying that although he admired Mamata Banerjee's leadership and hoped to fight the BJP in Assam through the party, he realized that the people of Assam view TMC as a regional party from Bengal and do not support it. Bora joined TMC in 2022, expecting it to help intensify the fight against BJP. However, he found that continuing with TMC would not be effective because the party is not accepted by the people of Assam. He felt that staying in TMC would be a waste of time and energy, and thus decided to leave in search of a more effective platform to challenge the BJP.
