The announcement was made during a review meeting between Mumbai North West MP Ravindra Waikar and Western Railway General Manager Ramashray Pandey, where several long-pending railway infrastructure projects in the constituency were discussed

Western Railway said that the work forms part of the Virar-Dahanu Road Phase I quadruple line project and is expected to affect suburban as well as Mail and Express train services
