Five people lost their lives, and fifteen others were injured when a double-decker bus collided with a truck on the Yamuna Expressway in Aligarh on the night of November 20th, Wednesday. The bus, traveling from Delhi to Azamgarh, was overtaking another vehicle when it crashed into a truck carrying glass items. The accident occurred in the Tappal area of Aligarh, where visibility was significantly reduced due to fog, increasing the likelihood of accidents. The bus, operated by Krishna Travels, a company based in Faizabad, was heading towards Azamgarh when the tragic incident took place. The bodies of the deceased passengers have been sent for post-mortem, while the truck involved in the accident has been seized by the police. Following the accident, police teams rushed to the scene and initiated rescue and relief operations. The injured passengers were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Legal proceedings have been started in connection with the incident. Delhi Yamuna foam: Locals share concern over pollution, AQI levels & Yamuna foam

Delhi's Air Quality Index has worsened as winter approaches, raising concerns among residents. Toxic foam is seen floating on the Yamuna River, indicating high pollution levels in the water. This rising pollution is causing serious health problems, especially for senior citizens who are particularly vulnerable. Locals are worried about how the situation will deteriorate after Diwali, when firecrackers often add to the already poor air quality. With colder temperatures trapping pollutants closer to the ground, many fear that respiratory issues and other health problems will increase. Efforts to reduce pollution, such as limiting firecracker use and improving waste management, are crucial to protect public health. As winter sets in, the community hopes for effective measures to combat the pollution crisis and improve air and water quality for everyone in the National Capital.

Toxic foam floats in Yamuna, Kejriwal's last year promise goes viral

On October 18, Delhi faced rising air pollution, and toxic foam was spotted floating on the Yamuna River in Kalindi Kunj. This situation raised health concerns among residents. Last year, Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal promised to clean the Yamuna River before the 2025 Delhi assembly elections. However, with the elections approaching, the current state of the river suggests that this promise remains unfulfilled. The contrast between Kejriwal's assurances and the reality of the polluted river has sparked discussions among the people of Delhi, who are worried about both air quality and the condition of their rivers. As the elections get closer, many are questioning the government's efforts to tackle these environmental issues.
