Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today confirmed that the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was used in Operation Sindoor. He made the announcement while inaugurating a new BrahMos missile production facility in Lucknow. The Indian Armed Forces had launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK). The precision strikes were carried out on nine locations—four in Pakistan and five in POJK—between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM.

On February 26, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and KP Maurya, and other cabinet ministers, took a boat ride at Sangam in Prayagraj. They visited Arail Ghat to perform Ganga Puja after the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh. The Chief Minister also took part in a cleanliness drive following the event. The cleanliness drive aimed to ensure the area remained clean and maintained after the large-scale religious gathering. The authorities have emphasized the importance of keeping the environment clean and preserving the sanctity of the location, which holds immense religious and cultural significance.
