Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 21 attended Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav. On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2550th Lord Mahavir Nirvana Mahotsav at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi and along with this he wished the countrymen on Mahavir Jayanti. The PM said that Lord Mahavir's message of peace and goodwill is an inspiration for the country in building a 'developed India'. He said that this grand building of Bharat Mandapam is today witnessing the beginning of the 2,550th Nirvana Mahotsav of Lord Mahavir. While addressing the audience there, he also cracked a joke in a very light-hearted manner. His funny political joke left the audience laughing. There is a major update in Sandeshkhali violence. West Bengal police arrested Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan who has been accused of sexually assaulting many women as well as land grabbing in Sandeshkhali. Reportedly, he was arrested from the Minakhan area in North 24 Parganas in the early hours of Thursday morning. He is expected to be produced before a local court in Basirhat court in West Bengal at 2pm on 29th February. Shahjahan has been evading arrest by both state and Central Agencies for over a month. A large number of women in Sandeshkhali had accused Sheikh Shahjahan of "land-grab and sexual assault". Bengal BJP leaders have been protesting, demanding Shahjahan’s arrest ever since allegations came to the fore.

The 55th session of Human Rights Council was attended by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. He highlighted the ongoing situation in war-torn Gaza. He said that terrorism and hostage-taking are unacceptable. On top of that, Dr Jaishankar said, “I assure you of my delegation’s full support and cooperation to you, the office of the High Commissioner, and all mechanisms of the Council. Milind Deora has ended ‘55-yr relationship’ with Congress and according to sources, he might join Shinde-led Shiv Sena. According to sources, Milind Deora, along with few former corporators and 450 supporters, will join Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday at around 2 pm. After Milind Deora quits Congress, he further said he was walking on the path to development. Post this, he was seen offering prayers at the Siddhivinyak temple. "Today marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in my political journey. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of @INCIndia, ending my family’s 55-year relationship with the party," Milind Deora said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Indian Air Force's An-32 aircraft, which went missing over the Bay of Bengal in 2016, has been discovered seven years later. On July 22, 2016, the airplane had inexplicably disappeared over the Bay of Bengal, carrying 29 people. The airplane search and rescue operation grew to be one of India's largest. On August 1, 2016, it was discovered that the aircraft lacked an underwater location beacon, and the rescue effort was called off on September 15, 2016. The National Institute of Ocean Technology employed an AUV to identify a missing aircraft on the seabed about 310 kilometers off the coast of Chennai. The search was carried out at a depth of 3400 m with various payloads. The search images were scrutinized and found to be conforming with an An-32 aircraft.
