Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP's 8th list out!

Bharatiya Janata Party on March 30 released its 8th list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list included 6 candidates from Punjab out of the total 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state. BJP has fielded three turncoats from Congress and AAP who were already holding the parliament seats. Ravneet Singh Bittu, who recently switched from Congress, will contest elections from Ludhiana. For Jalandhar, BJP chose former AAP Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, who recently joined hands with the saffron party. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh’s wife and former Congress MP Preneet Kaur has been fielded from Patiala. Preneet Kaur joined BJP on March 14 in the presence of National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, leader Tarun Chugh, and Sunil Jhakhar. Former Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been fielded from Amritsar. Famous singer Hans Raj Hans, who is the North West Delhi MP in the outgoing 17th Lok Sabha, has been fielded from Faridkot. Actor Sunny Deol has been dropped from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency and has been replaced by Dinesh Singh “Babbu”.

The 55th session of Human Rights Council was attended by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. He highlighted the ongoing situation in war-torn Gaza. He said that terrorism and hostage-taking are unacceptable. On top of that, Dr Jaishankar said, “I assure you of my delegation’s full support and cooperation to you, the office of the High Commissioner, and all mechanisms of the Council. India remains committed to working with Council members and observers for the promotion and protection of all human rights. India's approach to Human Rights is rooted in our democratic principles and pluralistic approach.”

Devotees flock to seek blessings from Ram Lalla after 5th day of Pran Pratishtha

The devotees in large numbers continued to throng Ayodhya on January 27 to take darshan of Ram Lalla on the fifth day after Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple. IG Range Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar elaborated on arrangements made for effective crowd management. Earlier, on the fourth day after the Consecration Ceremony, Ayodhya also witnessed a long queue of devotees. The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Ram Mandir was held on January 22. The Ram Lalla idol was unveiled at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony after the hour-long rituals in the presence of PM Modi.

The Indian Air Force, in a mighty display of power and skill, executed gravity-defying maneuvers by Indian Air Force aircrafts in the Republic Day 2024 Flypast. The viewers were left speechless as IAF’s famed aircrafts like Apache, Sukhoi and Rafale pulled off dangerous stunts in the sky. In the ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the National Flag at Kartavya Path. The ceremony was followed by the National anthem and a 21 Gun salute. President Droupadi Murmu was given the national salute by the President's Bodyguard at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Republic Day 2024: Watch 1500 dancers giving a message of unity at the parade

Each year, cultural performances form a part of the Republic Day parade at the Kartavya path in Delhi. This year too, on the occasion of Republic Day 2024, the Republic Day parade 2024 saw a group consisting of 1500 dancers giving the message of unity in diversity. The grand performance included 30 folk dance styles uniquely prevalent in different states of the country. 120 dancers also donned masks related to various tribal and folk performing arts and 120 dancers performed dances with traditional umbrellas and other artistic objects from Gujarat, Manipur, Kerala and Maharashtra. 26/11 Mumbai Attack: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde pays tribute

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with Governor Ramesh Bais paid floral tributes to the Bravehearts at Martyrs' Memorial on the premises of the Police Commissioner's Office in Mumbai on November 26. Today, it marks the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Commonly referred to as 26/11, these coordinated assaults by a group of 10 terrorists did mayhem on the streets of Mumbai and sent shockwaves through the nation and the world. Terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group had entered the city of Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008. Over the course of four days, they killed 166 people and injured 300.
