Veteran director Rono Mukherjee, uncle to Kajol and Rani Mukherji, and known for directing films like Tu Hi Meri Zindagi (1965) and Haiwan (1977), passed away in Mumbai at the age of 83 due to age-related health issues. His daughter, Sharbani Mukherjee, was joined by cousins Tanishaa and Ayan Mukerji at the funeral, while Kajol and Rani were absent due to work commitments.
