Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over Delhi Liquor Policy Case, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sambit Patra on November 02 said that Rs 338 crore money trail in the scam is only the tip of the iceberg. While addressing a Press Conference, he said, “When it has been said in Supreme Court that Rs 338 crore money trail has been established in the liquor scam, then the public needs to tell whether or not Arvind Kejriwal should be probed? The Rs 338 crore money trail in this scam is only the tip of the iceberg.”
The air quality in Delhi remained in the ‘poor’ category as per SAFAR on October 27. Delhi Minister Atishi on mentioned that there has not been any data that can tell the sources lead to what amounts to the severe pollution in the National Capital. However, in 2020, Atishi revealed the data claiming that the pollution in Delhi is directly correlated with stubble burning in Haryana and Punjab. Amid lusty sloganeering from party supporters, ED on Oct 04 arrested AAP’s Sanjay Singh from his Delhi residence. The Rajya Sabha MP was arrested in connection with with the now-scrapped liquor policy case. His was the second high-profile arrest in the case after former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The arrest came hours after the ED conducted raids at the residence of the AAP Rajya Sabha MP in connection with the case. As word of his arrest got out, various AAP workers gathered outside Singh's residence, condemning his arrest. Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh’s family alleged that ED officials couldn’t find anything and misbehaved with them. Before his arrest the AAP MP said, “Cowardly and dictatorial Prime Minister wants to win elections this way.”The AAP leader alleged further that the officers misused their position to tarnish his public image and demanded prosecution against them. He added that he had already sent a legal notice to the officers concerned to issue an open and public apology. As per to ED, name of the AAP leader appears four times in the ED chargesheet, one of which was typed inadvertently. At one place Sanjay Singh's name was mentioned instead of Rahul Singh, who was the then excise commissioner.
In regards to the Delhi Winter Pollution, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a 15-point winter action plan to fight pollution during winter in the national capital. Addressing a Press Conference, Kejriwal said, “To reduce the increase in pollution in winter, we have prepared a 15-point winter action plan. He urged the people of Delhi to install the Green Delhi App in their mobile phones and register complaints related to pollution in the city.”
It was only a few days back that the leaders of 26 Opposition political parties from across India joined hands to form the INDIA coalition — the Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance to challenge the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP, in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. However, cracks have already started appearing in the ‘INDIA’ alliance of the opposition parties. Punjab Congress seems to be ‘unhappy’ with Congress joining hands with Aam Aadmi Party. Punjab LoP Partap Singh Bajwa outrightly rejected the idea of stitching an alliance with AAP in the Punjab 2024 Parliamentary elections. On the other hand, AAP’s Spokesperson in Punjab, Malvinder Kang said that the alliance has been formed in the national interest.
