Prime Minister Narendra Modi's last visit to Lakshadweep has sparked global interest in the destination which is also visible after seeing a spike in Google searches. As a result of PM Modi’s visit, Lakshadweep is witnessing tourists in huge numbers since then. Speaking to ANI, the tourism officer gave insights about Lakshadweep and the growing tourism in the Union territory. He said, “Lakshadweep is a very unique and very isolated tourist destination. We have been streamlining various tourism activities on the Island. Lakshadweep is one of the best scuba diving destinations in the world. Prime Minister visited the Lakshadweep Island last December and the impact of his visit was huge.”Speaking to ANI, a tourist shared his experience and said, “Our experience was amazing and I think we were trying to find a destination like this only where things are raw and not very much commercialized.”

Crime series 'Poacher' is all set to stream on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video from February 23. Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, it stars Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. In a media interaction, Richie Mehta said, “It is literally about wildlife crime fighters in India. People who are basically motivated to do everything they can in their power and more to save what they believe as a planet.” While being asked about his performance in the film, DEV D actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya replied, “Acting also should be like a living being. INS Chennai, which rescued the hijacked Bulk Carrier MV Lila Norfolk on January 5, reached Chennai on Feb 16. On Jan 05, the Indian naval warship reached the hijacked vessel MV Lila Norfolk off Somalia coast. As many as 21 crew members, including 15 Indians were onboard the ship which was hijacked by the pirates. The Indian Navy was quick to respond and rescued all the crew members. Navy’s elite commando unit MARCOS reached the vessel and initiated the “sanitisation” process. The rescued members hailed the Indian Navy’s efforts and a timely response.
