Actor Jackie Shroff has approached the Delhi High Court to seek protection of his personality and publicity rights on May 14. The suit has been filed against entities for unauthorized use of his name, photographs, voice, and the iconic term "Bhidu." Shroff is asking the court to stop these parties from using any part of his identity that makes him unique, as this could confuse or deceive people. On Tuesday, Justice Sanjeev Narula took up the case and issued summons related to Shroff's request. The actor is requesting a permanent injunction to prevent the defendants from violating his personality and publicity rights by using his name 'Jackie Shroff', 'Jackie', 'Jaggu Dada', 'Bhidu', as well as his voice, image, and any other unique attributes associated with him, for any commercial or personal benefit.

Fueled by Pakistan’s economic crisis, protests have rocked PoK due to clashes between protesters and authorities. People are on streets against skyrocketing inflation and violent protests have left at least 3 people dead and 90 injured. The protest is being led by Awami Action Committee which demanded tax-free electricity from Mangla Dam and subsidies on wheat flour. Clashes ensued between law enforcement and protesters in Muzaffarabad, Dadyal, Mirpur, and other parts of PoK. While tension has heightened in PoK, Jammu and Kashmir is celebrating world’s largest festival of democracy. Years after article 370 was abrogated, people in Kashmir queued up to exercise their franchise and be part of democratic process. Home Minister Amit Shah has said, “Modi government's decision to abrogate Article 370 is showing results”. The HM’s remarks came a day after about 38 per cent polling was recorded in the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency. India has remained resolute on its resolve that PoK is an integral parts of the country. Recently, EAM Jaishankar made big statement and said “PoK will be part of India”. Speaking on violence in PoK, Ghulam Nabi Azad said that “he felt sorry for Pakistan’s people”.

Amid the Lok Sabha Polls in India, voices to merge Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has grown louder. Time and again, India has remained resolute, calling entire Jammu and Kashmir including PoK as part of India. Meanwhile, anti-Pak protests in several regions of Pakistan’s illegally occupied Kashmir have rocked the neighbor. People in the region, particularly the younger generation, have confronted Pakistani forces on the streets. Clashes have also ensued between security personnel and protesters in Muzaffarabad, Dadyal, Mirpur, and other parts of PoK. Amid the unrest, Political Activist Amjad Ayub Mirza appealed to India to focus on PoJK as the situation is getting out of hand there. Taking a step ahead, he said that India must not follow the footsteps of previous regimes by ignoring PoJK. A violent clash broke out between the police and people from the Dadyal area of Pakistan-Occupied (PoK) Kashmir on Thursday which left several injured. The protesters gathered to protest against skyrocketing inflation and load shedding. Pakistan police subsequently implemented curfew in the region, prohibiting all activities following the POK Protests. Before this escalation, the protesters had warned the Pakistani authorities against resorting to violence. Meanwhile, speaking to ANI, political activist Amjad Ayub Mirza condemned the incident, emphasizing that violence against peaceful protesters in PoK is intolerable. He also reported the tragic death of a schoolgirl in Dadyal. Mirza further stated, "Riots have erupted in Dadyal, with hundreds of protesters taking to the streets in Tatapani. The state's violence against my people is a ploy to impose Section 144 and a curfew in PoJK ahead of the May 11 long march and sit-in outside the legislative assembly in Muzaffarabad."

Amid the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, former Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam along with his wife and daughter joined Shiv Sena on May 03. Shiv Sena President and Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde welcomed the leader at the party office in Thane. Sanjay Nirupam was expelled from Congress on April 03 for indiscipline and anti-party statements. After the expulsion, Nirupam claimed that the disciplinary action against him came following his resignation from the party’s primary membership. The former MP had left the undivided Shiv Sena nearly two decades ago in order to join Congress.

Sharpening his diatribe, Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir spewed venom against India again. This time, he was addressing the passing out parade at the Pakistan Air Force Academy in Risalpur. While addressing the passing out cadets, General Asim Munir once again raked up Kashmir conflict. Gen Munir also talked about aerial engagements between Indian and Pakistani air forces in 2019 post Pulwama attack. He said, “The professionalism in brilliance of Pakistan Air Force is being displayed in war against our arch-rivals and profoundly in Feb 2019 in short but several engagements against the misplaced calculus of our rival who mistook our initial restraint as weakness. We shall never allow anyone to challenge our territorial integrity, sovereignty and security of our beloved homeland. Regardless of what are adversaries say, another region where forces violently trampling over Human Rights and muzzling voices to self-determination is Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The silence of the world over Kashmir is deafening. But, we will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir till the day they are empowered to exercise their rights of self-determination.” Ever since 1947, relations between India and Pakistan have been tense and Kashmir has been major of conflict. The countries have fought several wars and in 2019, the relations nosedived when the Article 370 was abrogated. India has reiterated its stance on numerous occasions that entire Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of the country.

The BJP candidate from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Kompella Madhavi Latha on Sunday ridiculed the complaint filed against her controversial arrow gesture towards a mosque and said if she were against the Muslims, then why would she participate in a procession during the holy month of Ramzan and distribute food to many people with her own hands?Reacting to this, she told ANI, "On the occasion of Ram Navami...for a Dhanush that didn't exist, for the Teer (arrow) that didn't exist, and for the reaction of the teer coming out that wasn't there, they made a false video of mine...They have made an allegation and registered an FIR..."Owaisi, who has served four terms in the Lok Sabha as the elected representative from Hyderabad since 2004, was previously elected as an MLA twice in the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh. A private screening of the film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' was organised at the YRF studio on Wednesday evening. The makers and a few other celebrities were seen at the intimate screening. While Tiger Shroff, who is one of the leads alongside Akshay Kumar, made an appearance, Disha Patani too was seen at the screening. There have been rumours of the two patching up and her appearance at the screening has only added fuel to the rumours. Rakul Preet Singh, Shilpa Shetty, Jackky Bhagnani, Siddharth Anand were also present at the screening.
