Pakistan Elections 2024: US issues warning to Americans in or traveling to Pak

The State Department of the United States has issued a travel advisory for its citizens in or traveling to Pakistan. The US has advised its citizens to be vigilant ahead of Pakistan general elections 2024 scheduled for Feb 08. In the advisory, the State Department has highlighted potential disruptions and safety concerns during political activities of Pakistan Elections 2024. It also mentioned that in some instances, political activities in Pakistan have been targeted for violence.

Exuding confidence in Banga, President Biden announced that the White House is nominating ex-Mastercard CEO as World Bank head. The Indian-origin and Padma Awardee is currently serving as the vice-chairman at private equity firm General Atlantic. President Biden also said that Banga has a critical experience mobilizing public-private resources to tackle the challenges of current scenario. The decision came after David Malpass, the current President of the World Bank announced his plans to step down.
