A major Israeli security operation in Qalqilya in the northern West Bank has uncovered two underground shafts, weapons and ammunition, according to the IDF. The Yahalom unit took part in the operation, with the IDF saying the shafts were approximately 12 metres deep. Security forces seized an M16 rifle, firearms, magazines and a large quantity of ammunition. Mobile phones, a digital video recorder and chemical fertilizer were also reportedly found near the shafts.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has delivered a sharp message to the United States, rejecting President Donald Trump’s threats and accusing Washington of pursuing a “bullying mentality” against Tehran. Speaking at the United Nations, Pezeshkian said Iran would not surrender to US pressure or threats of “annihilation,” while maintaining that Tehran remains open to negotiations to resolve the conflict. Pezeshkian placed civilian casualties at the centre of Iran’s case against the United States, displaying photographs and referring to the deadly strike on a school in Minab. He accused the US of killing civilians during the conflict, while the US delegation walked out as the Iranian president began his address with a direct attack on Washington. WATCH
