Maharashtra Politics: Former Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan joins BJP

In a recent development in the Maharashtra politics, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader from the state Ashok Chavan has joined Bharatiya Janata Party. On February 13, Ashok said that he is going to start a new political journey and will join Bharatiya Janata Party later in the day. Speaking to ANI, Ashok Chavan said, “Today is the new beginning of my political career. I am formally joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in the BJP office today in presence of Devendra Fadnavis. It is a new beginning for me. I am hopeful that we’ll work for the constructive development of Maharashtra.”

Chandrayaan 3: Pragyan Rover traverses over 100 meters on Moon's south pole

Days after the successful soft landing of Chandaryaan 3, Pragyan rover has traversed over 100 meters. Taking to X, ISRO shared the information and said the rover traversed over 100 meters and continuing. Earlier on August 31, rover was seen rotating in search of a safe route on the surface of the moon. ISRO shared the first observation from the ChaSTE payload onboard Vikram Lander. ChaSTE measured the temp profile of lunar topsoil around the pole, to understand the thermal behaviour of moon’s surface. Notably, ISRO also launched its maiden solar mission ‘Aditya-L1’ from Sriharikota on September 02. ‘Aditya-L1’ is India’s first space-based Indian observatory mission to study the Sun. Spacecraft is carrying 7 payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere, and outermost layers of Sun. The total travel time from the launch pad to L1 will take about four months for ‘Aditya-L1’.

Chandrayaan-3: Pragyan Rover's smart move on Moon; comes across a crater

In a major update on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO on Aug 28 informed that ‘Pragyan’ rover came across a 4-meter diameter crater on the lunar surface, 3-meters ahead of its location. Taking to X, ISRO informed that rover was commanded to retrace the path and now safely heading on a new path. Earlier today, ISRO also revealed the launch date of the much-anticipated Solar mission ‘Aditya-L1’. The launch of ‘Aditya-L1’ is scheduled for Sept 2, 2023 and is set to travel 1.5 million km from Earth. With never rest attitude, ISRO also measured the temperature profile of the lunar south pole’s topsoil. In the history of space science, this is the first time that temperature profiling is being done around the south pole of the Moon. Chandrayaan-3’s lander ‘Vikram’ completed its circuitous journey on August 23 and scripted a history. With this success, India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and USSR – to have successfully landed on the Moon’s surface.

A high-voltage drama was witnessed as the state minister was seen crying in pain after ED took him into custody. 22 years ago, a similar incident happened in Tamil Nadu when DMK chief M Karunanidhi was arrested. As Rajasthan CM Gehlot took the mic to deliver a speech before the inauguration of development projects, the people attending the rally raised Modi-Modi chants. Prime Minister was quick to signal the gathering to ‘calm down’.
