On 26th of February, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation over 2000 railway infrastructure projects worth around Rs 41,000 crores. On this occasion, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw thanked  Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the projects. He also vowed to transform the railway industry. Aswini Vaishnaw informed that soon the railway will be exporting India’s Vande Bharat Express for which the process has been started. The Ministry of Railways is readying a roadmap to start the export of Vande Bharat Train by 2025-26. They are also working to increase production of Bande Bharat trains..

'Just looking like a wow' trend, which can be traced back to Jasmine Kaur, who posted the video on her Instagram profile, has taken the internet by storm. Vaishnaw’s comments came weeks after he shared concept images of luxurious Vande Bharat's Sleeper Coaches. Scheduled to be launched by the Indian Railways in 2024, the Vande Bharat sleeper train is set to revolutionize long-distance overnight train travel in India. The first Vande Bharat Express was launched in 2019 from Delhi to Varanasi and since then the semi-high-speed train has become a popular mode of transport within the country.

Andhra Train Accident: Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw monitors the situation

In response to the Andhra train accident, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took stock of the situation from the war room in Delhi. The horrific train accident on Oct 29 in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagram district has jolted the nation. Notably, the death toll has mounted to 11, and at least 50 people were injured in the tragic accident. CPRO East Coast Railways informed that 18 trains have been cancelled and around 22 have been diverted. Andhra CM YS Jagan ordered immediate relief measures at the accident site. The Prime Minister has also announced the ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased.

India got its first 3D-printed Post Office in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Aug 17 inaugurated Cambridge Layout Post Office. It is India’s first Post Office constructed completely with 3D printing technology. Taking to Twitter, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called it a ‘Spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat!’.

India to get its first ‘steam engine’ themed train soon

India’s first ‘steam engine’ themed train will soon be running on the tracks, confirmed Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 08. The Railways Minister also took stock of the ‘heritage specials’ train at the Chennai Central Railway Station. With the looks of a traditional steam train, the stunning-looking loco train will be run on electricity and will soon be introduced on heritage routes. The amenities like double seats with reclining mechanisms along with bottle holders and footrests are included in the train.

Indian Railways will operate 857 special trains towards Puri and back during the Jagannath Rath Yatra this year for approximately 20 lakh pilgrims, who are visiting Puri, said Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Odisha train accident: Railway minister says root cause identified

In the wake of the Odisha train accident, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said, “The root cause of this accident has been identified. PM Modi inspected the site yesterday. We will try to restore the track today. All bodies have been removed. Our target is to finish the restoration work by Wednesday morning so that trains can start running on this track.” The triple-train accident involved Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Coromandel Express and a goods train. Notably, 17 coaches of the two passenger trains were derailed in the horrifying accident.

 In a tragic incident, at least 233 people were killed and about 900 got injured in Odisha as three trains met with accident on June 02. The accident took place near Bahanaga Bazar station when the train was on the way to Chennai from the Shalimar station. In view of train accident, Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik has ordered for State Mourning for a day. No state celebration to take place on 3rd June throughout Odisha. CM Naveen Patnaik, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reached the accident spot to take stock of the situation.
