Pakistan and Afghanistan have reported fresh border tensions following an exchange of fire near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Lower South Waziristan, Pakistani security forces targeted multiple Afghan border posts, mortar positions and defensive installations following reported firing on Pakistani border checkpoints. The Pakistani official also claimed that Afghan Taliban personnel left their positions following the response. No casualties were reported on the Pakistani side in the latest exchange. The development follows an earlier mortar-shelling incident near Angoor Adda on October 27, in which one civilian was killed and five others were injured, according to Pakistani officials. Meanwhile, a separate exchange of fire near Torkham temporarily disrupted cross-border movement before the crossing reopened. The latest incidents add to ongoing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
