Voting for 59 Assembly constituencies spread across nine districts of Uttar Pradesh began at 7 am on Wednesday in the fourth phase of polls. The polling will continue till 6 pm. Assembly polls 2022: UP records 60.44 per cent voter turnout till 5 pm

Voting for 55 Assembly seats spread across nine Uttar Pradesh districts started on Monday morning. This is the second phase of the Assembly elections in the state.As many as 586 candidates are in the fray in this phase with the seats spread across Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Amroha, Budaun, Bareilly and Shahjahanpur. Polling also began in 40 Assembly seats in Goa. Elections also begin in Uttarakhand.

The battle for Uttar Pradesh began on Thursday with polling at 58 assembly seats spread across 11 districts in the western part of the state. Assembly polls: Accept the Nandigram verdict, but will move court, says Mamata

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) was ahead in 202 of the 292 seats that went to polls in West Bengal, way over the halfway mark of 147, leaving the BJP trailing far behind in 77 seats. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK, led by its President M.K. Stalin, is leading in 121 of the state's 234 Assembly constituencies and if the trend continues, then it can form the government on its own. The party-led front is leading in 143 Assembly constituencies (Congress 15, CPI and CPI-M two each, VCK three) for which the polls were held on April 6.

While voters in Assam will cast their vote in three phases, polling in West Bengal will happen across eight phases. Counting of votes in all states will happen on May 2.
