Special Parliament Session: PM Modi recalls Nehru and Vajpayee's iconic speeches
During his address to the special parliamentary session in Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi bid farewell to the old parliament building. In his speech, PM Modi recalled iconic speeches of Pandit Nehru, 'At the stroke of the midnight hour', to Atal Bihari Vajpayees', Sarkarein aayegi-jaayegi, partiyan banegi-bigdegi, lekin ye desh rehna chahiye'. PM Modi also recalled the contributions made by several leaders in the progress of the nation and added that it will keep inspiring us as we transition to the new parliament building.

PM Modi, Prez Murmu pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary
August 16, 2023 marks the fifth death anniversary of former PM and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee. President Droupadi Murmu and VP Jagdeep Dhankhar paid floral tributes at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also reached the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial to pay homage to the former PM. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tributes to the former PM. Born in Gwalior in 1924, Vajpayee was BJP’s face for decades and was the first non-Congress PM to serve a full term in office. Vajpayee breathed his last on August 16, 2018, after a prolonged illness.

On the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Former President Ram Nath Kovind and late Atal Bihari Vajpayee's foster daughter Namita Kaul Bhattacharya on August 16 paid floral tribute at ‘Sadaiv Atal’ in Delhi. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was one of the co-founders and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served three terms as the Prime Minister of India.
