As the interim budget for the financial year 2024-25 was rolled out on February 01, President of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) Atul Keshap lauded US and India governments for their focus on iCET sectors and budget. Atul Keshap said, “First of all, I think this is a very confident, very sober and very pro-growth budget by the government of India, and I think it signals a real sense of optimism about the economic growth of the country. It sends a very strong signal to investors about the constancy of government policy. So I think it's very positive. And I congratulate the Finance Minister, her entire team and the government.” “So it actually details really nicely with iCET (Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology), which is the initiative on critical and emerging technologies that the two governments and the US chamber launched in January of 2023. So first, for instance, there's a $12 billion fund to help develop these so-called sunrise sectors of deep tech and future tech. And there's a lot of money as well on semiconductors. I think the government of India is showing great focus on artificial intelligence, quantum computing and other iCET sectors. I led an aerospace and defence mission last week, or rather this week, to Delhi, and we had really good and encouraging meetings. So I really applaud both the US and Indian governments for their focus on the iCET sectors and this budget. It proves that that focus is backed by real money,” he added.

Indian Space Research Organisation Chief S Somanath, while addressing team members, congratulated his team members for the successful launch of PSLV-C58 XPoSat mission from Sriharikota on January 01. ISRO launched X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite from the first launch-pad, SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota in Andhra today. The mission would carry primary payload XPoSat and ten other satellites to be deployed in low earth orbits. XPoSat mission is India’s first dedicated polarimetry mission to study various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed ISRO's successful launch of its maiden X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite.

After a fruitful weekend, the G20 Summit 2023 under India’s presidency concluded on Sept 10. The Summit witnessed global consensus on New Delhi Declaration covering several aspects of global issues. The ‘Host’ India was highly regarded by world leaders for its successful campaign throughout the presidency. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulated India for the successful two-day mega event. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Italian PM also extended her gratitude to India. On Sept 02, ISRO successfully launched its much-anticipated ‘Aditya-L1’ mission to Sun from Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The PSLV-C57.1 rocket carrying the Aditya-L1 orbiter, lifted off successfully. PM Narendra Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) and congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch. MoS Jitendra Singh also termed the launch, a ‘sun shine’ moment for India. Aditya-L1 spacecraft is to be placed in the halo orbit around the Lagrange Point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system. It is about 1.5 million kilometres away from the Earth. Lagrange Point 1 (L1) is where the gravitational pull of both the Sun and the Earth equalises. Placing the satellite in the halo orbit around the L1 point has the advantage of continuously seeing the Sun without any eclipses.

India on August 23 scripted history by becoming the first country to successfully soft-land on the moon's south pole. Following the landing, congratulations poured in from all across the world including major space giants NASA and the UK Space Agency were among the ones who congratulated India immediately after it landed on the moon. Taking to X Handle, NASA’s Bill Nelson said that “We are glad to be your partner on this mission!”. The UK Space Agency was also quick to congratulate India for the historic achievement. In a statement, Anu Ojha said that “Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is further evidence that we are living in a new space age”. Meanwhile, congratulations also poured in from Russian President Vladimir Putin and his minister Sergey Lavrov. With this success, India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface. India has also earned a place in record books as the first to touchdown on the south side of Earth’s only natural satellite.

Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the moon at 6:04 PM on Wednesday, 23rd August. PM Modi had joined virtually from Johannesburg, where he is attending the 15th BRICS Summit. "When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India," said PM Modi on the soft landing of ISRO's third lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 on the moon.
