Jeweller Gifts Gold for Rs.20 to Elderly Pair Who Saved Rs.1100 by Begging

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Gulmandi area, an elderly couple arrived at a jewellery shop with just Rs.1100, money they had collected over a month by begging. While most shopkeepers turned them away, one jeweller listened to their story and was deeply moved. He sold them a gold ornament worth 1 gram for just Rs.20. The couple hails from a small village in Mantha tehsil, Jalna. After suffering losses in farming, they moved to the city and survived by begging.

Several police vehicles were set on fire and pelted with stones amid the violence. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the situation is under control. While Shivsena (UBT) Leader Sanjay Raut said the riots were sponsored by the Maharashtra Government.

Aaditya Thackeray went to Vaijapur for the seventh leg of his party’s Shiv Sanvaad Yatra. The incident took place near the venue where Aaditya was addressing his supporters. At the same time, there was also a procession in the area to mark Ramabai Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. Aaditya requested members from both sides to remain calm and requested that the procession continue.
