“India on the moon, Pak not risen from earth…” Nawaz Sharif once again praises

Pakistan's former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has once again lauded India during an address in Islamabad. Nawaz Sharif was addressing the Pakistan Muslim League_ Nawaz (PML-N) cadre in Islamabad on Dec 20. While praising India, Nawaz Sharif said that the countries around us have reached the moon. Pointing out the dire economic situation, Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan has still 'not risen' from earth. Pakistan Muslim League_ Nawaz (PML-N) supremo asserted that Pakistan is responsible for its downfall. India became the fourth country to land on the moon’s surface and the first on the South Pole. The ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down on the south pole of the lunar surface on Aug 23.

ISRO brings back Chandrayaan-3 propulsion module to Earth's orbit

ISRO successfully brought back Chandrayaan-3 Propulsion Module to the Earth orbit. It was brought back to the Earth’s orbit after exceeding its lunar mission objectives. It also demonstrated India's ability to not only launch objects to the Moon but also bring them back. This accomplishment shows that ISRO can restart engines on the moon and operate equipment. The primary objective of Chandrayaan-3 was to demonstrate a soft landing near lunar south-polar region. The spacecraft was launched on July 14, 2023, on board the LVM3-M4 vehicle from SDSC, SHAR. Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Lander made its historic touchdown on the Moon on August 23. The scientific instruments in the lander and rover were operated continuously for 1 lunar day. According to ISRO, the mission objectives of Chandrayaan-3 have been completely met. The initial plan was to operate this payload for about three months during the mission life of PM. Currently, Propulsion Module orbiting Earth, crossed its first perigee on Nov 22 with an altitude of 1.54 lakhs km. According to ISRO, the orbit period is nearly 13 days with a 27-degree inclination.

Chandrayaan 3: Vikram Lander, Pragyan Rover sleep forever on Moon

Chandrayaan-3, India’s ambitious lunar mission slept forever as Moon goes dark again. Scientists are hoping that they would be able to revive Vikram Lander, Pragyan Rover with the rise of the Sun on Sept 23 at the South Pole. However, after several attempts of trying to wake up them up, there was no response from Chandrayaan-3. Although, Scientists have not lost hope of the revival of Chandrayaan-3. Astronomer and Professor Dr RC Kapoor said that there is still 1 pc chance of lander and rover’s revival. However, the lander and rover have done their best and provided sufficient data to the ISRO. Both the lander and the rover were put into sleep mode on September 4 and 2 respectively. After a 40-day journey into space, Chandrayaan-3 made a ‘historic’ landing on August 23 at lunar South Pole making India the first country to do so.

ISRO Chairman S Somnath informs about India's next mission to Venus

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S Somanath on Tuesday said that the mission to the brightest planet in the solar system, Venus is already configured adding that payloads have been developed for the future mission. Addressing the Indian National Science Academy in Delhi, ISRO chief Somanath said, "We have a lot of missions in the conceptual phase. A mission to Venus is already configured. Payloads have already developed for it." ISRO chairman further stated that Venus is an interesting planet and exploring it will help answer certain questions in the field of space science.

Chandrayaan-3: Scientists wait for Vikram Lander, Pragyan Rover to reactivate

The lander and rover are currently in “sleep mode” near Moon’s South Pole after having completed their set tasks. Chandrayaan 3: Vikram lander will fall asleep next to Pragyan Rover

In a major development, ISRO announced that ‘Vikram lander’ of the Chandrayaan-3 mission has been set into sleep mode. This significant development took place at approximately 8 a.m. IST on September 04. ISRO said that the data collected by the payloads is received at the Earth and the Payloads are now switched off. Taking to X, ISRO informed that ‘Vikram’ will fall asleep next to Pragyan once the solar power is depleted and the battery is drained. Prior to that, in-situ experiments by ChaSTE, RAMBHA-LP, and ILSA payloads were performed at new location. On August 23, India took a giant leap as the Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on Moon’s south pole. Notably, India became the fourth country after the US, China, and USSR to have successfully landed on the Moon’s surface. Vikram Lander, Pragyan rover performed different set tasks on the lunar surface including finding the presence of sulphur, and recording relative temperature.
