Ram Navami 2024: Ram Lalla's forehead illuminates with 'Surya Tilak' in Ayodhya

On the occasion Of Ram Navami, Surya Abhishek of Lord Ram was performed for five minutes at 12:16 pm on April 17. Ramnavami, the birth festival of Lord Ram Lala, was celebrated at noon and various types of offerings were made to the Lord. 56 types of Bhog Prasad were given by the devotees today which was offered to the Lord today. The trust also extended the duration of Darshan to 19 hours, starting from the Mangala Aarti and continuing until 11:00 pm. The curtain will be closed only for five minutes during the four Bhog offerings.

Ram Navami 2024: Thousands of devotees throng Ram Mandir to seek blessings

Across the country, Hindus are celebrating the festival of Ram Navami on April 17. A large number of devotees thronged Ram Temple in Ayodhya to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla is expected to be gifted with ‘Surya Abhishek’ at noon when the rays of the Sun fall on his forehead. Elaborate arrangements were made in the Ram Temple as it is the first Ram Navami after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony which happened on January 22. Devotees are also visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers on the occasion. Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals by the Hindu community that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The day holds special significance among Hindus which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month, the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said in Mahabharata, Krishna asked for five villages, but today the Hindu society is only asking for the three centres of their faith 'Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura. After a clash was reported from Mumbai's Mira Road, bulldozers razed illegal structures and encroachments in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road on Tuesday. "Illegal structures and encroachments were razed by bulldozers in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road where Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha celebrations were stone pelted. After instructions from the Maharashtra government, action is being taken by the Municipal Corporation with the help of the police," the Maharashtra government said. Meanwhile, three persons were arrested in Mumbai and an FIR was filed against unknown individuals after at least four cases of outraging religious sentiments were filed in the city following the Mira Road Violence.

The devotees in large numbers continued to throng Ayodhya on January 27 to take darshan of Ram Lalla on the fifth day after Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple. IG Range Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar elaborated on arrangements made for effective crowd management. Earlier, on the fourth day after the Consecration Ceremony, Ayodhya also witnessed a long queue of devotees. The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Ram Mandir was held on January 22. The Ram Lalla idol was unveiled at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony after the hour-long rituals in the presence of PM Modi.

India’s famous sculptor Arun Yogiraj received a grand welcome from the crowd in Bengaluru on Jan 24. Arun Yogiraj has received praises from across the country as he carved the Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Amid Jai Shri Ram chants, Yogiraj was welcomed at Bengaluru Airport. Addressing the media, Yogiraj said that he worked hard for seven months to make the idol. Wife of Ram Lalla idol sculptor, Arun Yogiraj - Vijetha on January 23 expressed joy over people’s response and love. She said that many people said that our house is a Mandir now. "We are planning to go to Ayodhya after a couple of days or so... The event yesterday was very nice. We all celebrated at home with all our relatives, friends and well-wishers. A lot of people came in, saying that our house is a Mandir now and everyone gave us blessings and love. We are very overwhelmed with the response we are getting," she said.
