As thousands marched into Mumbai demanding Maratha Reservation, supporters of Maratha Reservation in huge numbers were seen heading towards Azad Maidan in Mumbai. The Maratha Reservation rally led by Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil, thousands of protestors have gathered in Mumbai demanding Maratha reservation. The protesters, led by Jarange, intend to begin a hunger strike at Azad Maidan, seeking Kunbi (OBC) status for the Maratha community. Despite Mumbai Police denying permission for a hunger strike in city, Maratha quota leader Manoj Jarange, accompanied by thousands, had reached Navi Mumbai earlier in the day. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said everyone has the right to protest but it should be done peacefully, amid opposition allegations that the government is taking the Marathas for a ride.
