Thousands of protesters gathered near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), leading to massive traffic jams in South Mumbai. Several buses and vehicles were stuck for hours during the morning rush. The protest also spilled over to the railways, with local trains on the Harbour and Central lines overcrowded as protesters and office-goers rushed towards CSMT. Platforms were jam-packed, causing significant inconvenience for daily commuters heading towards Nariman Point, Fort, Kalbadevi, and Crawford Market.

Devendra Fadnavis of the BJP will take oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. The event, set for December 5, will see the formation of the Mahayuti government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to attend the ceremony, and several other prominent leaders have already arrived in Mumbai for the event. Maharashtra CM-designate Devendra Fadnavis was joined by his wife, Amruta Fadnavis, at the venue. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, along with his wife Anjali, and Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla are among the key attendees. Other dignitaries such as Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, and Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav have also arrived for the ceremony. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, and Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma are among the state leaders attending the event. Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Nitin Gadkari have also reached Mumbai. Supporters of NCP leader Ajit Pawar were seen outside his residence ahead of the ceremony. Security measures have also been heightened to maintain law and order. The swearing-in marks the official start of the new government in Maharashtra.

Speaking on the protest, Dr Prerna Gomes from Jaslok Hospital said, "We request the government that every organisation should have safety audit...What is the point if we are not safe even after more than 70 years of independence? Doctors always first think of the patients and not their safety. The workplace has to be safe for us."
