The Supreme Court made a landmark judgement on September 28, 2018, ending the age-old ban on women between the ages of 10 and 50 years (or women of "menstruating age") from entering Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Several women activists came forward and hailed the Supreme court's judgement claiming the judgement as a victory for gender equality.
