Across the country, Hindus are celebrating the festival of Ram Navami on April 17. A large number of devotees thronged Ram Temple in Ayodhya to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla is expected to be gifted with ‘Surya Abhishek’ at noon when the rays of the Sun fall on his forehead. Elaborate arrangements were made in the Ram Temple as it is the first Ram Navami after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony which happened on January 22. Devotees are also visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers on the occasion. Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals by the Hindu community that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The day holds special significance among Hindus which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month, the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar.

The devotees in large numbers continued to throng Ayodhya on January 27 to take darshan of Ram Lalla on the fifth day after Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple. IG Range Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar elaborated on arrangements made for effective crowd management. Earlier, on the fourth day after the Consecration Ceremony, Ayodhya also witnessed a long queue of devotees. The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Ram Mandir was held on January 22. The Ram Lalla idol was unveiled at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony after the hour-long rituals in the presence of PM Modi.

Ram Charan Visits Siddhivinayak: Actor Ram Charan visited Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai on October 4 and was seen walking barefoot. He arrived at Mumbai airport on October 3. The actor is observing a 41-day fast as a part of his annual Ayyappa Deeksha ritual, post which he will visit the Sabarimala Temple. He was dressed simply in a black shirt and pants along with a shawl. Ram Charan and his father, megastar Chiranjeevi, are devotees of Lord Ayyappa. As per the tradition, devotees, who follow Ayyappa Deeksha before their winter visit to the Sabarimala Temple, wear only black clothes and walk barefoot. They're not permitted to shave their beards or cut their hair during this period. The person observing this ritual has to sleep on the floor and indulge in no worldly pleasures.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Papua New Guinea on May 21. In an unprecedented gesture to PM Modi, Papua New Guinea PM James Marape personally reached the airport to receive him. PM Marape touched PM Modi’s feet and sought his blessings upon his arrival at the island nation. Papua New Guinea broke the protocol and a special ceremonial welcome was arranged for PM Modi. Notably, Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Papua New Guinea. PM Modi is visiting Papua New Guinea for the FIPIC Summit which will see participation from leaders of 14 countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a traditional welcome in Papua New Guinea.
