Maldives Envoy to India, Ibrahim Shaheeb was on January 08 seen leaving the Ministry of External Affairs in the national capital's South Block. This comes amid a row over derogatory social media remarks by some ministers in Maldives on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Lakshadweep. Maldives High Commissioner to India Ibrahim Shaheeb was seen arriving at the MEA office building and leaving a short while later. A massive row was triggered last week after Maldives deputy minister, along with other cabinet members and government officials, made disparaging and unsavoury references to PM Modi's Lakshadweep visit.

After delivering two blockbusters, like Pathaan & Jawaan SRK will return to the silver screen once again with Rajkumar Hirani's socio-drama which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani. Dunki is about a bunch of young people from Punjab who aspire to go to London. However, the journey isn't easy. Dunki Drop 1 is elevated, with a soulful track crooned by Sonu Nigam. There seems to be a rift in the INDIA alliance as Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on October 19 lashed out at Congress for not sharing seats for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections and said that he would not have trusted the Congress if he had known that Congress leaders would betray them. “The state chief has no authority. He was not there in the meeting held at Patna, Mumbai. What does he know about the INDIA alliance? These people from Congress are involved with the BJP. If I had known that the alliance is not on the state level then I would not have sent SP leaders to Digvijaya Singh...I would not have trusted them if I had known that people from Congress would betray us...,” said Akhilesh Yadav. Notably, the Samajwadi Party has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly polls on October 18. The party has declared the names of a total of 22 candidates in the second list.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 30 launched a unique week-long programme for Aspirational Blocks in the country called 'Sankalp Saptaah' at Bharat Mandapam, in the national capital.Addressing the event, he said, ‘The Aspirational Districts Program has changed the lives of more than 25 crore people in 112 districts of the country. There has been a change in the quality of life.”He stated, “The Bharat Mandapam, where world leaders had gathered to discuss global issues, is now hosting individuals who bring about changes at the grassroots level. For me, this summit is as significant as the G20 summit.” “This program ('Sankalp Saptaah') is a symbol of the success of Team India. This symbolises the spirit of everyone's effort. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are going gaga and can’t keep calm and control their excitement as his much-awaited movie ‘Jawan’ has hit the theatres on September 07. The ‘Jawan’ mania brought fans of SRK to Mumbai's Getty Galaxy Theatre at 6 am where they waited anxiously for the theater’s gates to open to watch the first-day-first-show. Amid talks of 'One Nation, One Election' as the Centre has constituted a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind to explore its possibility, a war of words has ensued between BJP and the opposition. Notably in 2020, PM Modi called for a discussion on ‘One Nation, One Election’, calling it a “necessity for India”. If the proposal comes into effect, elections for Lok Sabha and state assemblies across India will be held simultaneously with voting taking place at the same time. The Central Railway (CR) has taken a 27-hour megablock from November 19 night to dismantle the British-era Carnac Bridge between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Masjid Bunder station in south Mumbai. Central Railway's Mumbai suburban network operates over 1,800 local trains on the 'Harbour' and 'Main' lines, which originate in south Mumbai.
