Israel has put in a request with the UN Security Council to immediately convene a meeting to unequivocally condemn Iran. Soon after Israeli missiles hit the Iranian consulate in Syria, Iran vowed revenge on Israel. The attack claimed the lives of Iran’s top three Military Generals which added ‘fuel to the fire’ in the war in the Middle East. In a retaliatory move, Iran struck hundreds of UAVs, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles on Israeli soil. Israeli Envoy to UN Gilad Erdan demanded Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGP) to be designated as a “Terrorist Organisation”. Israel said that Iran poses a direct threat to international peace and violated the UN Charter. Meanwhile, Israeli PM Netanyahu on April 13 said that the country has prepared for an attack by Iran and is ready “for any scenario”.

Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari's brother Afzal Ansari on March 30 alleged the Uttar Pradesh government of killing his brother with poison. On 26th of March, engineer turned education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, who was on fast over several demands, ended his 21-day ‘Climate Fast’. A group of people allegedly attacked foreign students in one of the hostels of Gujarat University Ahmedabad on March 16. Police informed that the scuffle broke out as the foreign students were offering Namaz in the hostel premises. Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Gyanendra Singh Malik informed that stones were pelted and some hostel rooms were damaged. “Around 300 foreign students study here in Gujarat University. Some of them are from African nations, some are from Sri Lanka, some from Afghanistan. In the A block of the hostel, around 75 students live. Some were offering Namaz around 10:30 pm yesterday. Some 20-25 men came and asked them why are they offering Namaz here and it should be done in Masjid. On this, a heated argument and scuffle broke out. Stones were pelted, rooms were damaged. Police immediately responded and FIR was lodged. Strict action will be taken against persons involved. One person is identified. Rest will also be identified soon. The law and order situation here is under control,” he informed.

PM Modi implemented CAA on March 11. Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri took a sharp jibe at the political leaders opposing Citizenship Amendment Act. He said, “There are persecuted minorities in some of our neighbouring countries- Buddhists, Christians, Jains, Hindus, Sikhs, among others... In 1947, the population of Hindus in Pakistan was 24% which stands at 1% today. In erstwhile East Pakistan, there was a certain Hindu population but now there are just 7%. Some of these people who came to India before 2014 are being given a right. The people who are suddenly worried that these few immigrants will take away all jobs and resources need to know that our population is 140 crores and only 1000 people have registered on the portal so far. The number of people who had applied for citizenship under the Citizenship Act of 1955 is also just 4000. What is this completely distorted picture which is being presented? This is not about religion.
