In a massive construction leap for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor bullet train project, 300 km of viaducts have now been completed. The track laying has begun — 157 km of RC track beds have been laid so far. This ambitious project in collaboration with Japan is poised to revolutionise India’s rail infrastructure. Once operational, the bullet train will significantly reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to approximately two hours, a significant decrease from the current six-hour journey by conventional rail with a top speed of 320 km/h.

19 May,2025 07:07 PM ISTUnion Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the upcoming Mumbai bullet train station at Bandra Kurla Complex and said construction is moving at full speed. Currently, work is underway on the deepest level — Basement 3 — which will be used for parking. Vaishnaw said "The work is going on at a rapid speed. The work on the lowest basement-B3 is going on. The work for building the walls of the station has started. The work on the tunnel is also underway. A multi-storeyed building will be built over the station. On B3, cars will be parked, on B2, operational work will be done and on B1 and Ground level, passengers will enter the station. A world-class station is being built here..."

During his inspection of the National High-Speed Rail Project in Ahmedabad, Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw visits the steel bridge installation site at NH 48. He said, "In Bullet train projects, many places have some kind of unique construction. This bridge is over 1100 tons. Many of its specialised components are Made in India, and many of the components are designed in India. The team that is working here is the expert of bridge building - this is the team which has worked in Anji and Chenab bridges."
