Amid the ongoing war of words between Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad, Madhavi Latha and the Owaisi brother, Madhavi Latha rained fire at AIMIM chief, Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and alleged that they are spreading poison among the common. Berating her opponent, BJP leader also alleged that Asaduddin Owaisi is leading his community towards destruction. “Asaduddin Owaisi is leading his community towards destruction. PM Narendra Modi has brought about so many schemes, and tell me which scheme has Hindu-Muslim written on it?... People like Akbaruddin Owaisi and Asaduddin Owaisi are poisoning people's minds. When they along with Congress say they will give everything to the Muslims, where will 120 crore Hindus go?,” said Madhavi Latha.

Talking about the viral video in which AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi was seen praising a beef shop owner, Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad constituency Madhavi Latha made attacks on him claimed that the latter doesn’t respect his on religion. "I don't understand how Asaduddin Owaisi became a barrister. He keeps talking about personal law. According to personal law, a 'Fatwa' is something that is to be obeyed by all... When there is a Fatwa that beef should not be consumed, then how is he going against the Fatwa. This means he does not respect his own religion... Is the life of a Muslim so small that it revolved around cutting and consuming beef? You are asking for votes on this?... Why is he making the lives of Muslims so small?... He should speak of getting an education and being something for the country... What does it mean to cut beef? Did he not get anything else to ask for votes?... It is a matter of surprise for me," said Madhavi Latha.

Bharatiya Janata Party on March 30 released its 8th list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list included 6 candidates from Punjab out of the total 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state. BJP has fielded three turncoats from Congress and AAP who were already holding the parliament seats. Ravneet Singh Bittu, who recently switched from Congress, will contest elections from Ludhiana. For Jalandhar, BJP chose former AAP Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, who recently joined hands with the saffron party. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh’s wife and former Congress MP Preneet Kaur has been fielded from Patiala. Preneet Kaur joined BJP on March 14 in the presence of National General Secretary Vinod Tawde, leader Tarun Chugh, and Sunil Jhakhar. Former Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been fielded from Amritsar.
