Hubballi Murder Case: Victim's Father Demands Case To Be Handed To CBI

Niranjan Hiramath, father of the 24-year-old girl, who was stabbed to death by an unidentified person on a college campus in Hubbali, said that the authorities’ inquiry has not been up to the mark in the case and demanded a CBI Probe into the case. Congress Councillor of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, Niranjan Hiremath said, "I have given the name of 8 people openly. They have not even caught one person. I am losing faith now. They are trying to divert my case. Give it to CBI if you cannot do it... The commissioner in this case is a lady, even then she is not taking a girl's murder seriously... She is working under some pressure... I demand the commissioner should be transferred for negligence in the case... I demand that the case should be given to CBI.”

BJP leader Sambit Patra on ED summons to Arvind Kejriwal said that sometimes he feels surprised that there are people who change their colour, the people who use to say that summon by any central agency should be respected is now running away from the summons and now have become shameless. Addressing the press conference, Sambit Patra said "Sometimes I feel surprised that there are people who change their colour like this. The people who used to say 'summon sammaan hota hai'. Today, they are running away from the summons. They are afraid of summons, today they have become shameless. In the last six months, approximately nine summons have been delivered to Arvind Kejriwal. Till March, without respecting even a single summon, Arvind Kejriwal disrespects the constitutional sections of India, the structures created by the Constitution, they do not respect their validity... Arvind Kejriwal has murdered the trust of thousands and crores of people, he has murdered the truth..."

Delhi Excise Policy Case: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal granted bail

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appeared before Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case on March 16. He appeared before ACMM Divya Malhotra following the summons issued to him by the court. The court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of Rs 1 lakh. Rouse Avenue Court issued the summons based on two ED complaints in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. Earlier, Rouse Avenue Court on Mar 15 refused to stay the summons issued to Delhi CM on complaints filed by ED.

The Ministry of Home Affairs referred Manipur viral video case to the Central Bureau of Investigation on July 29. Following MHA’s reference, CBI registered FIR in Manipur viral video case, as per CBI official. Earlier this month, a 2-month-old video showing two women being paraded naked by a mob sparked massive outrage. After the horrific video went viral, the police swung into action and arrested seven people, including the main accused. Manipur has been witnessing ethnic violence since early May after Kukis protested Meitei community’s demand for ST status. As per sources, Centre also held several rounds of talks with members of the Kuki and Meitei communities. The government sources also told that law and order situation is improving in the ethnic-clash-hit state.

Manipur Viral Video: Centre to refer Manipur viral video case to CBI

The case of Manipur viral video that showcased two women being paraded naked will now be handed over to the CBI for investigation, according to the sources. The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to refer this case to Central Bureau of Investigation along with filling the affidavit in Supreme Court requesting the trial of viral video case to take place outside Manipur. Notably, this comes following the seventh arrest in the petrifying case that jolted the entire nation. Meanwhile, as per top govt sources, State Police has nabbed the person who shot the viral video and seized the mobile phone. As per sources, Centre also held several rounds of talks with members of the Kuki and Meitei communities. The government sources also told that law and order situation is improving in the ethnic-clash-hit state. Meanwhile, the Parliament continues to witness massive uproar from Opposition, seeking PM Modi’s comprehensive statement. Manipur violence has been simmering since early May as a result of ethnic violence after Kukis protested Meitei community's demand for ST status.
