Mumbai-Ahmedabad Railways: Mumbai-Ahmedabad rail route fenced

Western Railway completed the metal barrier fencing on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Railways route on March 13. The fencing has been done to curb the cattle run-over incidents. While speaking to the ANI, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that after the installation of the fence, the risk of cattle getting killed will be zero. "This is a very innovative design of fencing which has been put up from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. After the installation of this fence, cattle will not be able to come on the track and the risk of cattle getting killed will practically be zero. This innovation has been accepted by people as well. Due to this fence, the trains running between Mumbai to Ahmedabad can be taken to 160 km/hour,” said Ashwini Vaishnaw. The metal beam fencing is very robust as it consists of two W-beams. A W-beam type stands for wide flanges, which are thicker, and aid in resisting bend stress. Such fencing is used in highways & expressways, especially in accident-prone areas to protect vehicles as well as pedestrians.

Manipur Horror: Mallikarjun Kharge slams Central Govt over Manipur issue

As ethnic violence continues to engulf the Indian state of Manipur, Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on July 25 launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Manipur horror. He said, “We insist PM Modi to come to the Parliament and speak on the Manipur issue but he is talking about East India Company in his party meeting. Why is he scared about opposition parties naming themselves as I.N.D.I.A. They are nervous because of our successful meetings in Patna and Bengaluru. PM Modi has become directionless, he cannot understand what to do and what to say. He is giving several statements outside, but we want him to come to the Parliament and have a detailed discussion and speak on the actions that the Govt is going to take on this. The Manipur issue is not like the ones in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh or West Bengal, it is way more serious. This is a concern for all the Northeast states in the country. They are not concerned about the atrocities against women.”

I came to India through Nepal, I tried to apply for Indian visa but could not get it.” “Intelligence agencies have asked report from SSB and UP Police to find out how she managed to cross over without being verified by police personnel at the border.
