In a recent development in the Maharashtra politics, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader from the state Ashok Chavan has joined Bharatiya Janata Party. On February 13, Ashok said that he is going to start a new political journey and will join Bharatiya Janata Party later in the day. Speaking to ANI, Ashok Chavan said, “Today is the new beginning of my political career. I am formally joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in the BJP office today in presence of Devendra Fadnavis. It is a new beginning for me. I am hopeful that we’ll work for the constructive development of Maharashtra.”

Nationalist Congress Party working president Supriya Sule on Wednesday hit back at Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar for taking a dig at her father and party veteran Sharad Pawar over his age.
