The famous RK Studios, established by veteran actor Raj Kapoor 70 years ago in Mumbai's Chembur area, is now up for sale. Bollywood celebrities expressed their views after they heard that the iconic studio is up for sale. The actors said that countless sentiments and memories attached to the studio make it an iconic institution. Veteran actor Annu Kapoor said, "The news is heartbreaking because RK Studios is an iconic place. At this time what all the studio is facing, I am not able to say anything about it." Another veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar said, "Those who have planned to sell it are also emotionally attached to the studio. I would wish that the old studio with which old memories are connected should not be demolished." Arjun Rampal who has shot films there also expressed sadness and said, "I have shot films there and it is definitely an iconic studio. It still is an iconic studio so I hope it would remain."
A 40-year-old man residing in Chembur area was booked on 21st may, for mercilessly killing a cat by hanging it from the roof of his hut. The man named Sanjay Gade, stabbed the cat multiple times with screwdrivers and hung it outside for everyone to see. A video of the brutal crime went viral on social media. It was only later that the perpetrator was recognized by an animal lover and a complaint was lodged.
