A political controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu after the DMK approached the Governor seeking a comprehensive investigation into allegations that Chief Minister Vijay attempted to persuade two DMK-backed MLAs to resign from the State Assembly. The ruling party has demanded the registration of an FIR and a detailed probe by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), alleging that the reported move amounted to an attempt to alter the composition of the Assembly through inducement and political "horse-trading." The complaint is based on remarks allegedly made by MDMK General Secretary Vaiko during the party's General Council meeting. According to the allegations, Vaiko claimed that Vijay had requested him to persuade two MLAs to resign from their Assembly seats.
