PM Modi Flags Off Mumbai-Solapur And Mumbai-Shirdi Vande Bharat Express

The wait for world-class Vande Bharat express trains is finally over as today, February 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched two Vande Bharat trains in Mumbai. The inauguration event took place at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The two Vande Bharat trains will travel on the routes between Mumbai and Shirdi and Mumbai and Solapur. The Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat Train will be the 9th Vande Bharat Train in the country. The Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat Train will be the 10th Vande Bharat train in the country.

Platform ticket prices rise from Rs 10 to Rs 50 at key Mumbai stations

The Central Railway has increased the price of platform tickets for passengers at some key stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to avoid overcrowding during the upcoming summer season, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an official confirmed on 2nd March. CR's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar confirmed that a platform ticket now costs Rs 50 instead of the previous rate of Rs 10 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, and neighbouring Thane, Kalyan, Panvel and Bhiwandi Road stations.
