Nepal’s Gorkha district has been hit by a terrifying flood emergency after the Budhi Gandaki River surged violently, sweeping away three bridges and damaging homes and infrastructure. The sudden rise in water levels has triggered panic in Jagat and Salleri, with residents and tourists scrambling to reach safer ground as floodwaters roar through the Himalayan region near the China border. Authorities have confirmed that two suspension bridges and a steel bridge were washed away in the powerful river surge. A major development has emerged from Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district, where security forces say Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa has been killed during Operation Korag. According to the Chinar Corps, troops conducting a search operation in the Palmaidan area after specific intelligence inputs encountered suspicious movement. Security forces said the terrorists opened fire when challenged, triggering a gunfight. Moosa’s body was later recovered along with war-like stores. Moosa had been named among the key suspects wanted in connection with the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists were killed. Jammu and Kashmir Police had announced a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
