A shocking ambush unfolded just blocks from the White House when two National Guard soldiers were shot in a targeted attack in downtown Washington, D.C. Authorities identified the suspect as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national who entered the U.S. in 2021 under the Operation Allies Welcome program. President Donald Trump condemned the shooting as “an act of evil and terror” and ordered 500 additional Guard troops into Washington as part of his escalating crime and immigration crackdown. 

 A violent incident occurred outside Serbia’s parliament in Belgrade when a supporter of President Aleksandar Vucic was shot and a tent set ablaze. Authorities have detained a suspect, a former state security employee, after videos showed him carrying a gasoline can into the tents. President Vucic called the attack a “terrorist act with political motives” and condemned the act as intended to sow panic.
