XPoSat Mission: ISRO Chief S Somanath congratulates team on successful launch

Indian Space Research Organisation Chief S Somanath, while addressing team members, congratulated his team members for the successful launch of PSLV-C58 XPoSat mission from Sriharikota on January 01. ISRO launched X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite from the first launch-pad, SDSC-SHAR, Sriharikota in Andhra today. The mission would carry primary payload XPoSat and ten other satellites to be deployed in low earth orbits. XPoSat mission is India’s first dedicated polarimetry mission to study various dynamics of bright astronomical X-ray sources in extreme conditions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed ISRO's successful launch of its maiden X-Ray Polarimeter Satellite.

G20 Summit 2023: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulates India

After a fruitful weekend, the G20 Summit 2023 under India’s presidency concluded on Sept 10. The Summit witnessed global consensus on New Delhi Declaration covering several aspects of global issues. The ‘Host’ India was highly regarded by world leaders for its successful campaign throughout the presidency. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni congratulated India for the successful two-day mega event. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Italian PM also extended her gratitude to India. Earlier, Giorgia Meloni also held bilateral talks with PM Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. PM Narendra Modi handed over the G20 Presidency gavel to Brazil Prez Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The 19th G20 Summit is set to be organised in November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

PM Modi congratulates ISRO scientists for the successful launch of Aditya L1

On Sept 02, ISRO successfully launched its much-anticipated ‘Aditya-L1’ mission to Sun from Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The PSLV-C57.1 rocket carrying the Aditya-L1 orbiter, lifted off successfully. PM Narendra Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) and congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch. MoS Jitendra Singh also termed the launch, a ‘sun shine’ moment for India. Aditya-L1 spacecraft is to be placed in the halo orbit around the Lagrange Point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system. It is about 1.5 million kilometres away from the Earth. Lagrange Point 1 (L1) is where the gravitational pull of both the Sun and the Earth equalises. Placing the satellite in the halo orbit around the L1 point has the advantage of continuously seeing the Sun without any eclipses.

Chandrayaan-3: NASA, Putin congratulate India on Chandryaan's successful landing

India on August 23 scripted history by becoming the first country to successfully soft-land on the moon's south pole. Following the landing, congratulations poured in from all across the world including major space giants NASA and the UK Space Agency were among the ones who congratulated India immediately after it landed on the moon. Taking to X Handle, NASA’s Bill Nelson said that “We are glad to be your partner on this mission!”. The UK Space Agency was also quick to congratulate India for the historic achievement. In a statement, Anu Ojha said that “Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is further evidence that we are living in a new space age”. Meanwhile, congratulations also poured in from Russian President Vladimir Putin and his minister Sergey Lavrov. With this success, India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface. India has also earned a place in record books as the first to touchdown on the south side of Earth’s only natural satellite.

Roscosmos launches Luna-25 mission to Moon: ISRO congratulates Russia

Russia on Aug 11 launched the Luna-25 mission to Moon’s South Pole, its first lunar lander in 47 years. Greetings and best wishes were extended from India’s end on the successful launch of the Luna-25 mission. Taking to Twitter, ISRO wished for both Chandrayaan-3 and Luna-25 and said, “Another Meeting Point”. Russian lunar mission, the first since 1976, is racing against India’s Chandrayaan-3 for Moon’s South Pole. Just like India’s Chandrayaan-3, Russia aims to make a soft landing on the lunar south pole. Notably, Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar exploration mission, lifted off back on July 14.
