Delhi Icecream Vendor Murder: 25 Year Old Brutally Killed Near India Gate

On 24th of April, a gruesome murder took place near India Gate, New Delhi. A 25-year-old ice cream vendor named Prabhakar was stabbed to death during a fight near India Gate late Wednesday evening. A case of murder was registered under Section 302 IPC. The preliminary investigation suggests that Prabhat was selling ice cream when he had an argument with a customer over payment. The matter escalated and the accused stabbed Prabhat with a knife, before running away from the crime spot. Prabhat rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The police arrested the accused, who was on the run after identifying him with the assistance of CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops. He has been brought to the police station for further information.

In a massive success, security force officials foiled a major conspiracy to disrupt peace in Chhatisgarh’s Kanker, days ahead of LS Polls. In a high-voltage encounter with Naxals, security forces killed at least 29 Maoists in the region. As per police, 3 jawans were also injured during the exchange of fire and were shifted to a higher centre for better treatment. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on April 13 talked about the sequence of events that led to the arrest of the Bengaluru café blast case suspects from West Bengal. Talking to ANI, the Home Minister praised the NIA and Karnataka Police for arresting the accused. He also raised doubts about their involvement in Shivamogga blast. “NIA has done a wonderful job. Our Karnataka police have done a wonderful job. Both of them hail from Karnataka. They studied together. I was told initially that they are from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district. We will find out whether they have any links with the other agencies. These two were supposed to have been involved in the earlier Shivamogga blast. They had escaped for almost 3-4 years. And now after this incident, they are caught. NIA will investigate further. And then our police also will find out because they are originally from Karnataka. So let us wait and see what comes out of the investigation...” said G Parameshwara.

Bengaluru cafe blast: 2 suspects who planted bomb in Rameshwaram Cafe arrested

In a big win for NIA, two suspects of the Rameshwaram Café blast were nabbed from Kolkata on April 12. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha were allegedly involved in Rameshwaram Café blast. Mussavir Hussain Shazib is accused of planting the IED inside the Rameshwaram Café. On the other hand, Abdul Matheen Taha is said to be the mastermind of the attack. The NIA had declared rewards of Rs 10 lakh on each of the absconders. NIA, Central Agencies and police force of several states worked together to nab the accused. The cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was jolted by a low-intensity blast on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3, following the NIA team’s visit to the blast site. After two children were hacked to death in Budaun's Baba Colony on March 19, the parents of the deceased opened up about the incident and demanded justice.  “We want justice. We want him to be interrogated in our presence. And then we want him to be killed in front of us. We won’t be at peace until we see him die in front of our eyes. I want him to die just like how he killed our children,” said Sangeeta, the mother of the deceased.Meanwhile, the father of the deceased children said, “Javed had borrowed money earlier too, 2-3 months back. This time too, he asked for money, took our kids to the roof, and killed them. He didn’t spare the younger child too. When our other child complained to us, he ran away. His shop used to be filled with gamblers. We want to know who is behind these murders… We want an interrogation, then an encounter.”

The lone surviving brother from the tragic Budaun double murder incident, which occurred on March 20 in Baba Colony, shared his horrific experience. He said, "The individual from the salon arrived here. He escorted my brothers upstairs, but I'm unsure why he harmed them. He also attempted to assault me, but I managed to fend off his knife, pushed him away, and fled downstairs. Consequently, I sustained injuries to my hand and head... Two individuals (the accused) had visited here."Meanwhile in a new update on the Budaun double murder case, Bareilly IG Rakesh Kumar said that the accused fired at the police and was killed in retaliatory fire. He further said, “Today evening an unfortunate incident took place. The police reached the spot and the accused tried to escape. The accused fired at the police and was killed in retaliatory fire. The accused died on the spot. The accused is aged between 25-30.”

Women in Sandeshkhali gram panchayat have been agitating over alleged atrocities by TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his aides. The poor local women have narrated tales of horror of women being raped for years by leaders of Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress and their henchmen in TMC’s party office. Soon after the news broke out, the village and parts of West Bengal like Siliguri -  saw a huge clash between the West Bengal police and BJP workers who started protesting against the accused TMC leader and questioned Mamata Banerjee’s leadership. Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Anju Bala recently visited the village and urged for President’s rule to take place in the state of West Bengal following the Sandeshkhali violence.
