The 11-day #GaneshChaturthi concluded with the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in the sea, rivers and other water bodies across Mumbai. In big cities like Pune and Mumbai, processions carrying huge idols of the elephant-headed God on decorated trucks, accompanied by thousands of devotees and troupes of drummers continued well past midnight. Mumbai is all set for Ganeshotsav 2022 without Covid-19 imposed restrictions after two years. Ganpati idols were carried by devotees during processions ahead of the festival in the city. This year, the BMC waived off all restrictions on height for private and sarvajanik idols. Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 31st August this year.
