Indian Army conducts Anti-Tank Guided Missile Firing in Sikkim

Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a training exercise, involving the firing of anti-tank guided missiles. The exercise was conducted at a super high-altitude area of 17,000 feet in Sikkim on April 12. Missile-firing detachments from mechanised and infantry units of the entire Eastern Command participated. The exercise encompassed comprehensive continuity training and live firing from different platforms. It included moving as well as static targets which depicted actual battlefield conditions for the commandos. The ATGM system's performance in high-altitude environments reaffirms the aim of 'Ek Missile Ek Tank'.

PM Modi praises India's Defence sector growth, calls it a monumental achievement

For the first time in the history of Independent India, defence exports touched a record Rs 21,083 crore in the financial year 2023-24. India’s defence exports saw a record growth of 32.5 pc over the last fiscal year when the figure was Rs 15,920 crore. The recent figures have indicated that the defence exports have grown by 31 times in the last 10 years. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi called India’s defence sector growth a “monumental achievement”. The Prime Minister lauded the team’s hard work those who propelled India onto the global stage in defence. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh hailed PM Modi’s visionary leadership and congratulated all stakeholders. The defence industry, including private sector, has made tremendous efforts in achieving the highest-ever defence exports. The private sector and the DPSUs have contributed about 60 per cent and 40 per cent, respectively.

India’s External Affairs Ministry has finally reacted to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Pakistan. Deadly airstrikes were carried out by Iran on terror outfit’s headquarters in Pakistan’s Balochistan. Pakistan claimed that two children lost their lives, two sustained serious injuries in the airstrikes by Iran. India took a pro-Iranian stance and emphasised ‘actions countries take for self-defense’. Pakistan condemned Iran’s actions and termed the attack as an “unprovoked violation” of its airspace. In 2019, India carried out airstrikes in Balakot in retaliation to the suicide attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad terror group in Pulwama.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken lands in Israel to push for humanitarian

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Nov 03 landed in Israel’s Tel Aviv. Reuters reports that the US’ top diplomat has visited Israel to push for humanitarian pauses in the Gaza war. Israel has said that the Defense Forces have surrounded Gaza and the focus of its drive is to annihilate Hamas. Notably, this is Antony Blinken’s second visit to war-hit Israel in a month. This time, he will discuss steps with PM Netanyahu to minimise harm to civilians in besieged Gaza. As per Reuters, Gaza health authorities say at least 9,061 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its assault. On the other hand, Israel says Hamas killed 1,400 people and took more than 240 hostages in the attacks on Oct 7.

Israel-Hamas Conflict: Israel Defence Forces enter Gaza, IDF Releases Video

Amid the Israel-Hamas Conflict, The sight of destruction in Gaza is far from ending as the conflict between Israel-Palestine entered day 26. Thousands of Israeli missiles continued to pound Hamas’ targets killing top commanders of the militant group. Massive bombings, explosions were heard near the Gaza border on Oct 27 after Israel stepped up its operations. Also, an IAF aircraft, guided by ground forces, struck a Hamas post killing over 20 terrorist operatives in it, said IDF. Meanwhile, a new visual emerged from Gaza which showed Israeli soldiers entering Gaza strip. Armed soldiers, rolling tanks could be seen launching its ground operation inside Gaza. Ground troops struck Hamas outpost in the northern area of Gaza strip, including anti-tank missile launching cells and posts. The tunnels under the cramped enclave are a prime objective for Israel as it expands a four-day-old ground offensive. Also, 8,525 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct 7, said Gaza health authorities.

India abstains from vote on UN resolution on Gaza

The United Nations General Assembly on October 27 (local time) adopted a resolution calling for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce” between Israeli forces and Hamas terrorists in Gaza. The Jordanian-led draft resolution has been adopted by the General Assembly, with 120 votes in favour, 14 against and 45 abstentions. The 45 nations that abstained from voting on the resolution included Iceland, India, Panama, Lithuania and Greece. The resolution was adopted during the UN General Assembly’s emergency special session on the Israel-Palestine crisis. Addressing the UN General Assembly, India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to UN, Yojna Patel reiterated India’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism. “In a world where differences and disputes should be resolved by dialogue, this august body should be deeply concerned at recourse to violence...The terror attacks in Israel on 7th October were shocking and deserve condemnation. Our thoughts are also with those taken hostages. We call for their immediate and unconditional release. Terrorism is a malignancy and knows no borders, nationality or race...Let us keep aside differences, unite and adopt a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism. Casualties in the ongoing conflict in Gaza are a telling, serious and continuing concern. Civilians, especially women and children, are paying with their lives...” said Yojna Patel. “We welcome the international community's de-escalation efforts and delivery of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. India too has contributed to this effort. India is deeply concerned at the deteriorating security situation and astounding loss of civilian lives in the ongoing conflict...India has always supported a negotiated two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine issue, leading to the establishment of a sovereign, independent and viable state of Palestine living within secure and recognized borders side by side in peace with Israel...” she added. #UnitedNations #IsraelPalestine #IsraelHamaswar

India’s indigenous Medium Range Surface to Air Missile Air Defence System has been deployed in Punjab’s Adampur. The system is a joint production of the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Israel Aerospace Industries. DRDO has made significant success in terms of developing air defence weapons for both ground-based and warship-based systems. Wing Commander Ajit Bhaskar Vasane shared the details of the newly inducted MRSAM Air Defence System.
