Ram Navami 2024: Thousands of devotees throng Ram Mandir to seek blessings

Across the country, Hindus are celebrating the festival of Ram Navami on April 17. A large number of devotees thronged Ram Temple in Ayodhya to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla is expected to be gifted with ‘Surya Abhishek’ at noon when the rays of the Sun fall on his forehead. Elaborate arrangements were made in the Ram Temple as it is the first Ram Navami after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony which happened on January 22. Devotees are also visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers on the occasion. Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals by the Hindu community that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The day holds special significance among Hindus which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month, the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar.

In Mumbai, devotees gathered at Mahim Masjid to offer ‘namaz’ on Eid-ul-Fitr. Devotees in MP’s Bhopal offered Eid prayers at Eidgah with family and friends. Eidgah in Assam’s Guwahati witnessed a large number of devotees on the occasion of revered Eid. Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The festival is of great significance due to the moon sighting which has been part of Islamic culture for a long time. It is believed that Prophet Muhammad used to wait for news of sightings of the crescent moon as it indicated the beginning of a new month.

Devotees flock to seek blessings from Ram Lalla after 5th day of Pran Pratishtha

The devotees in large numbers continued to throng Ayodhya on January 27 to take darshan of Ram Lalla on the fifth day after Pran Pratishtha of Ram Temple. IG Range Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar elaborated on arrangements made for effective crowd management. Earlier, on the fourth day after the Consecration Ceremony, Ayodhya also witnessed a long queue of devotees. The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Ram Mandir was held on January 22. The Ram Lalla idol was unveiled at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony after the hour-long rituals in the presence of PM Modi.

Two days after Pran Pratishtha, a sea of devotees thronged Ayodhya Ram Mandir to take a glimpse of Ram Lalla. On January 23, lakhs of devotees thronged Ram Mandir in Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s Darshan. Uttar Pradesh Police administration pulled up their socks to manage the orderly movement of devotees. On Jan 24, UP Principal Secretary Home, DG (Law & Order) were present inside the 'Garbha Griha' to monitor the situation. Security was beefed up near the Ram Temple premises to avoid any untoward situation in Ayodhya. On January 22, India witnessed the much-awaited ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

The ram temple in Ayodhya opened its doors for the public today and a massive crowd gathered at the temple. People broke through the security at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya to have darshan of Ram Lalla. Some devotees got injured in the incident and were taken to hospital. Police and administration are on the alert to ensure comfortable continuous darshan for the devotees. Around 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh devotees have taken the darshan of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya Ram Mandir today. A similar number of devotees are awaiting darshan, and the local administration is making all the arrangements to provide continuous darshan to the devotees. The situation is under control now.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir: As the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla nears, a devotee from UP’s Lucknow prepared ’56 Bhog’ on January 19. According to him, the 56 types of sweets will be offered to Lord Rama after the 'Pran Pratishtha'. Ram Temple Trust chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das had ordered 56 types of sweets for the auspicious days. On January 18, the idol of Lord Rama was placed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The formal procedures of pre-Pran Pratishtha sacraments started on January 16 and will continue till January 21. The final rituals of the consecration ceremony will take place at 12.20 pm on January 22. PM Modi will perform rituals to mark 'Pran Pratishtha' and a team of priests led by Lakshmikant Dixit will perform the main rituals.
