Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Rahul Gandhi dismisses ‘Ram Wave’ in India

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is in Assam as part of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, on January 23 dismissed that there is no “Ram wave” in the country, while addressing a Press Conference in Hajo, Assam. This statement came a day after the historic ‘Pran Pratishtha’  event at Ayodhya Ram Mandir that happened on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spearheaded the temple’s inauguration ceremony. Rahul Gandhi is currently on his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Assam. A clash broke out in Assam’s Guwahati on January 22 during Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Congress workers were seen breaking the police barricades while Rahul Gandhi was standing atop a bus.

Kapil Dev Controversy: Kapil Dev dismisses question on not attending WC 2023

Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev had previously revealed that he was not invited to the ICC World Cup 2023 final between India vs Australia. The cricketer had mentioned “I wasn’t invited there. They didn’t call me, so I did not go. As simple as that. I wanted the whole ’83 team to be there with me, but I guess due to the fact that it’s such a big event and people are so busy handling responsibilities, sometimes they forget,” Kapil told the media. In a recent interview, when asked about the ongoing Kapil Dev controversy on not being invited to the world cup 2023 final match, the former cricketer dismissed the issue without talking about it further. On being asked about India’s loss in the world cup finals 2023, the cricketer said that it is time to move on from the setback and lauded the Indian cricket team for ‘good cricket’.

Rubbishing speculations of quitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joining Congress, Pankaja Munde came down heavily on such reports and warned the channel of facing consequences for airing such news.  “A few days back a news report came in that I met Rahul Gandhi & Sonia Gandhi twice and I am quitting BJP & joining Congress. Such news reports are absolutely false,” said Pankaja Munde in a press conference in Mumbai. “I swear that I have never spoken with any leader of any party regarding my entry into their party. I have never seen Rahul Gandhi or Sonia Gandhi in person...I am going to file a defamation case against the channel..." BJP national secretary added.

Sakshi Malik on Monday denied withdrawing from the ongoing wrestlers' protest against -WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. She has joined back her position in the Northern Railway. The development comes two days after the wrestlers met Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence. The meeting was held late on Saturday as the wrestlers raised their demand for WFI chief Brij Bhushan’s arrest. Satyawrat Kadian, the husband Sakshi Malik, said the wrestlers’ meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah held on Saturday was inconclusive. Bajrang Punia, another wrestler protesting in solidarity with Sakshi Malik, who has also reportedly resumed his Railway duty, also tweeted about this.

Rahul defamation case: Surat court dismisses plea for stay on conviction

The Surat sessions court on Thursday rejected Rahul Gandhi's appeal seeking a stay and suspension of the lower court order which convicted him in the 2019 defamation case and sentenced him to two years in jail. The sessions court heard both sides on April 13 and reserved the verdict for April 20. Rahul Gandhi cannot be reinstated as a Member of Parliament for now. Rahul Gandhi had requested that his conviction be paused pending his appeal against a court order sentencing him to two years in jail.
