Not only this, five fishermen were given death sentences but I brought them back alive. DMK and Congress are not only the culprits of the fishermen but also the culprits of the country,” said PM Modi.

In a big claim by Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, he predicted BJP will get 60% votes in Coimbatore, the constituency from where he is contesting from on April 19. Lottery king Santiago Martin's Future Gaming was the biggest purchaser of electoral bonds at Rs 1,368 crore, of which nearly 37 per cent went to the DMK, the Election Commission data showed on March 17. The company donated Rs 509 crore to Tamil Nadu's ruling party, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), through the electoral bond. Tamil Nadu’s BJP Chief K Annamalai slammed the DMK-led MK Stalin Government and said, “How can you get 90 per cent from a company that too is involved in lottery and gaming? DMK has to come out. Chief Minister has gone against one private new magazine in Tamil Nadu for defamation, where he has given in writing to a Court an affidavit that he never took money from any of the companies that are involved in the gambling and gaming business.”

DMK leader and minister for fisheries and animal husbandry Anitha R Radhakrishnan rolled out an advertisement in the Tamil newspapers on Wednesday. The ad had an image of a rocket with a Chinese flag on its nose cone, instead of the image of an IRSO rocket. The ad was intended to celebrate New space sport in Kulasekarapattinam. BJP has accused DMK of disrespecting Indian's sovereignty. Prime Minister Modi who is on a two day visit to Tamil Nadu said that the ad insulted Indian scientists and is a waste of public money. Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party President K Annamalai visited the Chennai Ambattur Industrial Estate on December 8 and inquired about the industries affected by the Chennai flood 2023. Annamalai visited the KKR metal components industry, inspected it, and enquired about walking in knee-level water in the company. Annamalai launched a scathing attack on the Tamil Nadu government for its lack of assistance in the flood-hit areas. He further added that the government needs to spend its reserves equally in different parts of Chennai. During the heated debate over Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023, and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill 2023, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Dr DNV Senthilkumar fired a potshot at Prime Minister Modi ruled Central Government, soon after the 5-states Assembly Polls, stating that “BJP can win elections in only Gaumutra states”. His comments came about the BJP’s win in the Hindi-belt states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in the recently concluded state assembly elections. The DMK MP’s comments were met with strong criticism from the BJP. Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi called it a disrespect of the ‘Sanatani’ tradition. His ‘Gaumutra States' remark triggered a fresh controversy as several Parliamentarians demanded his apology. Later, the DMK MP aplogised and also said that if these remarks have hurt someone's feelings, then he would not use it again.
