Haryana bus accident: Parents of deceased kids blame school management

A horrific bus accident took place in Haryana’s Mahendragarh on April 11 sending shockwaves across India. At least 5 students were killed and 15 were rendered injured after a private school bus overturned in the Kanina town. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital following the horrific road tragedy. As per police, the driver was driving the bus under the influence of alcohol. One of the parents and other locals also claimed that the driver was drunk while driving. One of the relatives of deceased child said the school administration was made aware of the drinking habit of the driver.  On the other hand, another relative of deceased child raised questions on Govt and School administration. Expressing grief, PM Modi said that “state govt is engaged in providing all possible help to victims and their families”.  Haryana CM Nayab Saini expressed grief over the incident and assured stringent action on the guilty. However, the question of the school being operational on a festival day (Eid) sparked a political row. Former Deputy CM of Haryana Dushyant Chautala raised questions and targeted Haryana Govt and administration.

The driver is believed to have been drunk, say the police. Police sources said that  the bus's driver jumped out of the speeding vehicle after losing control of it and it rammed a tree. The injured were immediately admitted to private hospitals. The kids were on their way to GL Public School, a private school located in Kanina of Mahendragarh when the tragic incident took place. President Droupadi Murmu extended her condolences for the tragic loss of schoolchildren in Haryana bus accident.

The government has selected nineteen legislation that cover a variety of important topics to be discussed during the session.

Mahua Moitra dragged by Delhi police regarding MGNREGA funds protests

TMC leaders including Mahua Moitra were detained after sitting on dharna at Krishi Bhawan. The Trinamool Congress had scheduled a meeting with the minister at the Krishi Bhavan, regarding the party's demand to release funds to West Bengal under the MGNREGA. Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Tuesday claimed that she waited for Trinamool Congress MPs in her office for over two hours. However, Trinamool Congress leaders claimed that Union minister had given them an appointment but did not meet them. The TMC delegation then sat on dharna, saying they won’t leave without meeting the minister. After some time, the delegation was forcibly removed from the site and detained.

In what is claimed to be India’s biggest drug haul in terms of monetary value, NCB seized drugs worth 15,000 crores off the Kochi coast. The seizure was part of ‘Operation Samudragupt’ targeting maritime drug trafficking. 134 sacks of suspected Methamphetamine were recovered from a ship. As per Deputy Director-General of Narcotics Control Bureau, Sanjay Kumar Singh, the source of the drugs is Pakistan. One person, suspected to be a Pakistan national, was arrested by the agencies and an investigation is on.

A teenager, driving a car without license, dragged an on-duty traffic constable on his car's bonnet for about 1.5 kilometres after the constable stopped him for jumping a traffic signal. The incident took place at Vasai in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Sunday evening. The accused has been arrested and booked under various charges including attempt to murder and motor vehicle act. The traffic constable has sustained injuries in the incident.

Briefing on the Delhi Kanjhawala death case which has shocked the country with twists and turns, Delhi Police Special CP (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda on January 05 informed about the accused behind the wheel. CP Hooda said that the driver was identified after interrogating the 5 arrested persons. The Special CP further said that Amit, who was driving the car was initially not revealed by people who tried to mislead police, as he didn’t have a driving license. The police are also on the lookout for two new accused persons as they tried to conceal the identity of the driver and tried to alter the clues. Anjali was dragged for around ten kilometers on the night of the new year in Delhi. She was accompanied by a friend, who fled away from the scene after the accident.
